Former Haiti youth international & Concacaf Caribbean champion brings championship pedigree, continental experience and versatility to the New York City Lions
BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — OSNER’S FC is proud to announce the signing of Denilson Pierre, an experienced Haitian defender whose career has included professional football in Haiti, international competition with Haiti’s youth national teams, Concacaf championship success with Violette AC, and most recently a successful run with Miami United FC in UPSL Premier.
Pierre, a natural left back who can also operate as a center back, brings experience, tactical versatility, composure and a championship mentality to an OSNER’S FC organization continuing to strengthen its senior roster in Brooklyn, New York City.
His signing also carries special significance for a club with deep Haitian-American roots. Pierre’s journey, from youth football in Haiti to representing his country, competing in Concacaf, facing Major League Soccer opposition and continuing his career in the United States reflects the type of experience OSNER’S FC wants surrounding the next generation of players.
“Denilson is not simply another addition to our roster; he is a player who understands what it means to compete at demanding levels and represent something larger than himself,” said J. Ronald Nazaire, President and Acting General Manager of OSNER’S FC. “His experience with Haiti, Violette, other professional environments and Miami United gives him a perspective that can strengthen our team both technically and mentally.”
“We are building OSNER’S FC around development, opportunity, discipline and ambition. Denilson understands that vision. We are delighted that he has chosen Brooklyn and OSNER’S FC for the next chapter of his journey.”
FROM HAITI U-17 CHAMPION TO INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL
Pierre’s story begins in Haiti, where he developed through the country’s football system before emerging onto the international stage.
One of the earliest defining achievements of his career came with the Haiti U-17 national team. In October 2014, Pierre started for Haiti in the Caribbean U-17 Championship final against Jamaica at Port-au-Prince’s Stade Sylvio Cator. Haiti defeated Jamaica 2–0 to become Caribbean U-17 champions. Concacaf records also identify Pierre among Haiti’s scorers during that qualifying campaign.
His development did not stop at U-17.
Pierre continued through Haiti’s national-team pathway and ultimately represented the country at U-23 level during qualification for the Tokyo Olympic Games. He was selected for Haiti’s 2021 Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship squad, which faced Honduras, Canada and El Salvador in Guadalajara, Mexico.
That progression, from youth international champion to Olympic qualifying football helped develop a defender accustomed to pressure, international opposition and the responsibility associated with representing Haiti.
For OSNER’S FC, those experiences are particularly valuable.
A PROFESSIONAL CAREER BUILT IN HAITI
At club level, Pierre developed through Haitian football and competed with established professional clubs, including Tempête FC of Saint-Marc, Real Hope FA of Cap-Haïtien and Violette AC.
His career with Violette would ultimately provide some of his most significant accomplishments.
Pierre was part of the Violette squad that competed in the 2022 Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship. Contemporary tournament records list him among Violette’s defenders, and he featured in the club’s continental campaign as Violette ultimately captured the Caribbean championship and qualified for the Concacaf Champions League.
That achievement placed Pierre and his teammates onto an even larger stage.
THE NIGHT VIOLETTE SHOCKED AUSTIN FC
Perhaps one of the most compelling chapters of Pierre’s career came during the 2023 Concacaf Champions League.
Violette AC entered the Round of 16 against Austin FC of Major League Soccer as a considerable underdog.
What followed became one of the memorable results of that year’s competition.
Violette defeated Austin 3–0 in the opening leg, and Pierre did not merely participate, he directly influenced the result. In the 39th minute, playing from the left side, Pierre delivered the assist for Miche-Naider Chéry’s second goal. Austin FC’s own official match report credits Pierre with the assist.
Pierre then started and played the full 90 minutes in the second leg at Austin’s Q2 Stadium. Although Violette lost that match 2–0, the Haitian club advanced 3–2 on aggregate, eliminating its MLS opponent and reaching the Concacaf Champions League quarterfinals. ESPN records Pierre as starting both matches and playing the complete 180 minutes of the tie.
For a defender joining OSNER’S FC, that experience speaks volumes.
He has competed when the opposition carried greater resources and expectations. He has experienced continental knockout football. He has been required to defend under pressure and has contributed offensively when opportunities emerged.
DEFENSIVE INTELLIGENCE AND VERSATILITY
Pierre arrives in Brooklyn primarily as a left-sided defender, capable of operating at left back while providing the positional flexibility to play centrally.
That versatility offers OSNER’S FC important tactical options.
As a modern fullback, Pierre can contribute in both phases: providing defensive stability in wide areas while supporting possession and attacking progression. His experience also gives him an understanding of when to advance, when to maintain rest-defense structure and how to recognize transition danger after possession is lost.
His assist against Austin demonstrated another dimension, his ability to deliver from wide areas at a high competitive level.
For a possession-oriented OSNER’S FC team seeking intelligent combinations, controlled buildup and purposeful attacking football, a defender comfortable contributing beyond his own penalty area can be particularly valuable.
CONTINUING HIS JOURNEY THROUGH UPSL PREMIER
Pierre subsequently continued his American soccer journey and most recently competed with Miami United FC.
UPSL’s official records list Pierre as a defender with nine appearances for Miami United during its 2026 campaign. He also demonstrated his offensive contribution, scoring in Miami United’s 6–2 victory over Florida Wolves FC on May 17, 2026.
Now, following Miami United’s successful national campaign, Pierre has chosen to bring his experience from South Florida to New York City and become part of the project being developed at OSNER’S FC.
“I am very happy to join OSNER’S FC and begin this new challenge in New York,” Pierre said. “I have experienced different levels of football, from Haiti and the national-team environment to Concacaf and now UPSL in the United States. Every experience teaches me something. I want to bring what I have learned here, help my teammates and help this club compete for important things.”
Pierre continued:
“As a defender, my first responsibility is to protect the team, communicate and give the players around me confidence. But modern football also requires defenders to participate in possession and help create attacks. I want to contribute in every phase and bring leadership, discipline and experience to the group.”
HAITIAN HERITAGE MEETS BROOKLYN AMBITION
Pierre’s arrival carries particular resonance for OSNER’S FC, a Haitian-American initiated soccer organization seeking to build a competitive institution that honors its Haitian heritage while representing the extraordinary multicultural character of Brooklyn and New York City.
The club’s philosophy is not to build around one nationality, but to use football as a common language through which different communities can come together.
Haitian heritage provides part of the foundation. New York City’s diversity expands the vision.
“When someone like Denilson Pierre joins OSNER’S FC, our young players can see an example of what perseverance can produce,” Nazaire said. “Here is someone who began playing football in Haiti, became a Caribbean champion with his national youth team, represented Haiti through the U-23 level, became a Caribbean club champion, competed in the Concacaf Champions League, helped eliminate an MLS club and continued his career in American soccer.”
“That story has value beyond our first team. It has value to the child entering the OSNER’S FC Academy who dreams of representing his or her country, playing college soccer or becoming a professional.”
That connection is fundamental to the OSNER’S FC player pathway, which is being structured to connect youth development with UPSL Division 2, UPSL Division 1, UPSL Premier, NPSL competition and U.S. Open Cup.
JOINING THE NYC LIONS
As Pierre begins his next chapter, he joins a club increasingly identified by its nickname, the Lions of New York City.
The name represents courage rather than arrogance, competitive strength combined with respect for every opponent.
It is captured in the club’s motto:
Respect All. Fear None.
OSNER’S FC wants players who understand both sides of that statement.
Respect means professionalism, humility, discipline and appreciation for opponents and teammates. Fear none means possessing the confidence to compete regardless of the badge standing on the opposite side of the field.
Pierre’s career already contains evidence of precisely that mentality.
“Denilson has played matches where his team was not expected to win and won,” Nazaire said. “That mentality matters. We want players who respect the game but never enter the field believing another team is beyond them.”
A NEW HOME IN BROOKLYN
Pierre now brings that experience to OSNER’S FC’s Brooklyn home at Floyd Bennett Sports aComplex, 3159 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11234.
For the club, establishing a recognizable home is part of creating something sustainable: a place where supporters can gather, academy players can watch the senior team and families can develop a connection to the badge.
Pierre will now have the opportunity to contribute to that growing identity.
“I understand that OSNER’S FC has ambitions beyond one season,” Pierre added. “There is a pathway here, there are young players coming through, and there is a community behind the club. I want to help build something successful and leave something positive behind.”
For OSNER’S FC, that is precisely why his arrival matters.
The club welcomes Denilson Pierre to Brooklyn, not simply for where he has played, but for what his experience can contribute to where the New York City Lions intend to go next.
