ATHENS, GA, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Walters Wedding Estates, a wedding and event company based in Texas, announced the acquisition of Hadden Estate on August 26, 2026. Hadden Estate is the company’s second venue in the State of Georgia and is located in Watkinsville, just ten minutes outside of the college town of Athens. Hadden Estate is a luxury wedding venue set on 25 acres of blueberry fields, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for those seeking a unique backdrop for their wedding or special event.
Originally founded by Jennifer and John Hadden in 2017, Hadden Estate began as a working blueberry farm after the husband and wife duo planted approximately 2,600 blueberry plants on the property. What began as DGD Farms, with an annual U-pick blueberry season open to the public, turned into a larger vision: creating a space to celebrate year-round.
Hadden Estate’s expansion into an event venue was completed in 2021, when the property hosted its first wedding. The North Georgia venue currently consists of a reception hall (The Estate Room), an outdoor ceremony lawn, a covered pavilion used for cocktail hour or a secondary ceremony space, a lush garden terrace (The Courtyard), a more intimate winery-inspired space (The Oak Room), and onsite accommodations for up to 22 guests (The Lodge). The ceremony sites and reception hall can host up to 200 seated guests, while the land adjoining the Blueberry Field can be utilized for photo backdrops.
Hadden Estate is often praised by couples for the charming vineyard-like setting and the flexible event spaces including The Oak Room, which is ideal for hosting welcome parties and rehearsal dinners. Hadden Estate and its onsite accommodations can also be rented for entire weekends, making it an ideal venue for full weekend weddings and corporate retreats.

Hadden Estate is the third venue acquisition for Walters in 2026, with the company most-recently acquiring Firefly Lane in June as its first expansion into the Tennessee market.
